Schedule Capacity¶
Schedule Capacity is a forward-looking view of how much of each station's shift time has already been scheduled, day by day for a week. Use it to find stations that are under-scheduled, and to spot overlapping schedules, before the week starts.
Open it from Scheduling > Schedule Capacity. The page is in beta.
Using Schedule Capacity¶
Choose the plant and a week. You can look up to 8 weeks ahead. The table has one column for each day of the plant's week, with today's column highlighted in blue, and a Weekly Total column.
Rows¶
- Total: the whole plant, pinned at the top.
- Station group rows: the totals for all stations in the group. Stations with no group are under Ungrouped.
- Station rows: expand a group to see each of its stations.
Cells¶
Each cell shows:
| Row | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Used | The share of in-shift time that is scheduled, production and non-production together. This is the scheduled capacity. |
| In-shift | The station's in-shift time for the day, from its shift pattern. |
| Sched. Prod. | Time covered by production schedules (scheduled production time). |
| Sched. Non-prod. | Time covered by non-production schedules, such as maintenance (scheduled non-production time). |
The Used figure is coloured:
| Colour | Used |
|---|---|
| Amber | Above 0% and up to 75% |
| Green | Above 75% and up to 100% |
| Red | Above 100%. More time is scheduled than the shift has, which means schedules on the same station overlap. |
A cell with no in-shift time shows a dash instead of a Used percentage.
How time is counted¶
- Only scheduled time inside the station's shifts is counted. Scheduled time outside the shift is left out.
- A schedule counts from its actual start, or its planned start if it has not started, to its actual end, or its planned end if it has not ended. A Fixed Quantity production schedule with no planned end counts to its ideal end, calculated from the SKU's cycle time.
- A schedule with no end, such as a running continuous schedule, is not counted.
- Group, plant and weekly figures add up the time of the stations below them, then work out Used from those totals.
Going to the Gantt¶
Click the Used bar in a day column to open the Gantt for that day, filtered to the station, the group's stations or the whole plant. Click the Used bar in Weekly Total to open the Gantt week view.
CSV export¶
Download the week as a CSV file. It has one row per station, and a Total row for the plant at the end. For each day and for the week total, there are four columns:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Prod | Scheduled production time, in hours and minutes |
| Non-Prod | Scheduled non-production time |
| No Schedule | In-shift time with no schedule |
| Capacity | Used, as a percentage |
Capabilities and metrics¶
| Capability | What Schedule Capacity shows |
|---|---|
| Scheduling | Scheduled capacity, scheduled production time, scheduled non-production time |
| Asset Utilisation | In-shift time |
